Kalmisto is a melodic death metal band from Finland. Petri Ilvonen (guitar) and Jarno Vanhanen (drums) founded the band in the end of the year 2007. Soon after that Teemu Tavén (guitar) joined Kalmisto.

Immediately the band started to work on some material. In 2009 we recorded our first EP. Vocals were sung by Sami Honkonen. 400 copies of the EP were printed in June and were sold out within the next three months. The EP soon got acknowledged by the targeted audience and got positive feedback. The song "Borders" was played at Radio Rock.

In October Henri "Henkka" Harberg joined Kalmisto as our singer. We played our first gig at Halloween, 31.10.

In the beginning of 2010 Jarno Vanhanen left the band. after that we continued playing with session members.

In the spring 2010 Kalmisto won the Demosetä competition for Nummirock and got a chance to play in Nummirock Metal Fetival.

In june Tommi Hartikainen joined the band as an full member.

In the end of july Kalmisto recorded their second EP (Re-Possessed). It was published 9.9.2010.
